Kidlington Concert Brass has publicly thanked Musical Director Duncan Wilson following his departure from the band.
Grateful
Vice president Aine Jackson told 4BR: "We are so grateful to Duncan who has led the band for almost 10 years alongside a challenging schedule as a professional trombonist.
We are particularly thankful for his fantastic commitment and contributions during his tenure, though appreciate the work and family pressures that brought about this decision.
Duncan has led the band through contesting success, some fantastic tours — including our recent trip to Edinburgh — but, above all, he focused on nurturing a high standard of musicianship throughout the band."
Titles
During his tenure Duncan Wilson led Kidlington to a brace of First Section London & Southern Counties Area titles in 2013 and 2017 respectively, leading to them to third place at the National Finals on both occasions, and more latterly returning to the Championship Section.
The band also won the Leicester Open and Oxfordshire & District titles on numerous occasions as well as taking part in the All England Masters. The band came seventh at the 219 Area contest.

Pride
Aine Jackson added: "We pride ourselves on being a welcoming and friendly band, somewhere where people can feel comfortable being themselves. We are also a valued part of the artistic life of our community.
The band and committee look forward to receiving applications from interested applicants."
