The Norwegian Fifth Division band, Brass Band Holmestrand Ungdomskorps has changed their name to Holmestrand Brass.
Centenary
The new name and logo was revealed at their recent 'Queen Rules III' concert appearance at the Holmestrand Cultural Festival last month and was made to reflect their forthcoming centenary celebrations that take place in 2021 and that they are now no longer just a youth (Ungdomskorps) band.
The band is also well known for commissioning the popular test-piece 'Sinfonietta — The Town Beneath the Cliff' from Philip Sparke — a work that pays homage to its rather unique geographical location on the Oslofjord coast.
