Frank Hoyland is the new MD at East Riding of Yorkshire

The East Riding of Yorkshire Band has announced the appointment of the experienced Frank Hoyland as their new Musical Director.

After a few years away from conducting due to the pressures of work, Frank said that he was "very excited and looking forward"to working with the band and was "thrilled to accept the challenge".

An accomplished performer, he has both played and conducted many Championship Section bands, including Yorkshire Imperial Metals, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery and British Steel Stainless Dodworth.

Passion and enthusiasm

Band Chairman, David Vivian told 4BR: "We are delighted that Frank is now in a position to resume a conducting role and use all his enormous passion, enthusiasm and wealth of experience for the good of the East Riding of Yorkshire Band."

The appointment follows the recent news that the band has been building on its success in the community of Hessle following its move to a new bandroom in 2018.
