The Skelmanthorpe Band enjoyed a profitable weekend on the keenly contested march & hymn tune circuit as they claimed the £600 first prize and the Crispin Trophy at the popular Morley event.
Led by MD Martin Heartfield they also boosted the total with an extra £150 for topping both the march and hymn tune categories.
They were hard pushed by Yorkshire rivals Marsden Silver who picked up £350 (with cornet player Anna Ferguson taking the 'Best Instrumentalist' award), whilst Yorkshire Imps were third.
