Former members of the Stanshawe/Sun Life Band recently made their annual pilgrimage to a welcoming public house in Bristol to recall memories and reminiscences of their time with the much missed band.
It saw the players head for the wonderful Cornubia public house, nestled amongst the high-rise office buildings and hotel complexes of the Templemeads area — an almost untouched Georgian gem that has also been a wigmaker's premises (which would have come in handy with a few of the players).
Ideal venue
It was the ideal venue then for over 20 friends to once again meet up to talk over old times and reaffirm long lasting friendships.
A spokesperson told 4BR: "There was a real buzz and constant chatter from this small group throughout the whole afternoon. The sun was shining and great enjoyment was had by all.
At an appropriate time, everyone was called to order, and the names of former players and conductors who are no-longer with us were read. This included the name of Tim Joint who died recently at the tragically early age of 52."
