The City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) Band has announced that the experienced Martyn Ford has been appointed as the new conductor of the organisation's Melingriffith 2 (M2) Band.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "With many years of high level band and orchestral conducting experience we are looking forward to working with him on the further development of our M2 band, which will strive to provide a balanced programme of contests and concerts to its enthusiastic adult and youth members."
