Haverhill Silver Band has announced that they have signed two new players.

Bob Bales joins the top section London & Southern Counties ensemble on Bb tuba after a spell with Thundersley Brass and having been a regular guest with Haverhill over several years. He replaces long serving Gary Howard who is taking a banding break.

Meanwhile, Matthew Waterson joins on horn from Waterbeach Brass following the departure of David McClintock, who as well as being a valued member was the band's deputy conductor.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We would like to welcome both players and also say thanks to Gary and David for their contribution during what has been a very successful period for the band."
