The Welsh Regional Championship is to return to Swansea in 2020 — although it will be at a brand new venue.
The competition over the weekend of the 29th February & 1st March will be held at Swansea University's Great Hall.
Flagship
The 700 seat wood panelled Sir Stanley Clarke Auditorium was designed by world-renowned architect Dr Demetri Porphyrios, and is the £32m flagship building at the heart of the University's new Science and Innovation Bay Campus, offering world class acoustics and facilities.
The format of the weekend will remain the same, with Sections 3, 2 & 1 on Saturday with Section 4 & Championship the following day.
Sole focus
Welsh Regional Council Secretary told 4BR: "The date was chosen as it doesn't clash with any Welsh 6-Nations fixtures.
More importantly, it ensures that the Championships will be the only region taking place on that particular weekend, so the sole focus will be on us.
The Welsh Regional Council is pleased that the Championships are returning to Swansea, and we look forward to working with Swansea University to deliver a fantastic celebration of Welsh brass banding."
