PLC takes the helm at Grimethorpe Youth

Paul Lovatt-Cooper has become the new Musical Director of the Grimethorpe Youth Band

  Paul Lovatt-Cooper will lead the Grimethorpe Colliery Youth Band

Grimethorpe Youth Band is to be led by a new Musical Director in the form of Paul Lovatt-Cooper.

Paul, who has worked with a number of youth ensembles all over the world and will take up his new role at the band's next workshop day on June 9th at the Barnsley Civic Hall.

Workshops

He will be assisted by the principal players of Grimethorpe Colliery Band as they deliver a day of workshops, culminating with a concert at the end of the afternoon. It will be followed by two more workshop days in Autumn and then December.

Speaking about his new role Paul told 4BR: "I'm really excited to be working with this excellent organisation. Along with my team of brilliant tutors, we're going to be working on and performing some really exciting and fun new repertoire to help develop the musical skills of the young players."
