Black Dyke stars lead trom day

Brett Baker and Paul Woodward lead the way in a great Black Day Trombone Day in Mansfield.

  The Trombone Day led by Brett and Paul was a great success

22 trombone players of all ages and standards recently teamed up with Black Dyke stars Brett Baker and Paul Woodward for a great 'Trombone Day' in Mansfield.

It was the sixth time the event has been held, with Brett and Paul also joined by members of the Black Dyke Youth Trombone Quartet to ensure that the delegates were able to enjoy a fantastic lunchtime recital.

The event was sponsored by Rath Trombones, with Tim Sidwell from the company on hand to provide expert support and advice as well as bringing with him the latest selection of the market leading trombones for eager delegates to try out.

Fabulous day

Looking back on the day, Brett told 4BR: "There was a great sense of togetherness on a fabulous day, with brand new arrangements by Ian Jones working really well with the 22 stars working so effectively in three groups. I'm delighted that there are so many trombonists who share their passion for playing the instrument."

Brett also confirmed that plans are already underway for the event in 2020.
