Dobcross Silver Band has announced the appointment of Jason Smith as their new Musical Director.

Qualities

Band Chairman, Andy Black told 4BR: "Jason has all the qualities we need to take the band forward, and he is looking forward to the challenge.

He has many years experience in the role including successful spells as MD at Golborne, Flixton, Milnrow and Lindley, as well as many years playing cornet and flugel at the highest level under the likes of Roy Newsome and our own Dave Morris.

He added: "We are all looking forward to Jason's first rehearsal April and the start of an exciting chapter in the fortunes of Dobcross Silver Band."
