4BR was at the 2019 National Youth Brass Band Championships at Warwick School, where we caught up with conductor Julie Maxwell and players, Steven, Simran and Pardee to find out more about their band.

The players of Brass of the Saff all come form a single housing estate — Saffron Lane in Leicestershire and have been created through a crowdfunding initiative.

They came as a school band last year, but this community ensemble is now established with an ethos of having plenty of fun.
