The Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) has announced the appointed of Manus Carey to the new role of Deputy Principal (Performance & Programmes).

Manus joined the RNCM in 2017 as Director of Performance, bringing extensive experience from his previous role as Executive Producer at the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO).

As Director of Performance, he presided over a number of significant innovations in student performance, and more recently, instigated 'Lab Week', an initiative that provides students with the chance to step out of the practice room, collaborate together and create something new.

Creative

He said: "The RNCM is such an extraordinarily creative, inspiring and forward-thinking environment and I'm delighted to be extending my role here."

In his new role he will assume strategic leadership and responsibility for the College's academic programmes as well as performance activities, aligning the RNCM's performance programme with the academic training needs of students.
