The Shepherd Group Youth Band has just returned from a fantastic tour to Paris.

The trip included performances at the stunning bandstand in the famous Luxemburg Gardens and the equally impressive Videopolis Stage in the heart of Disneyland.

Fireworks

The band embarked on the 12 hour journey early on 23rd February to reach their destination — a lovely hotel outside the Disneyland theme park where they were greeted by a sneak peek of the nightly fireworks show.

Conductor, Craig Brown told 4BR: "The band has worked exceptionally hard to fundraise through concerts and events over the past year, and I'm incredibly proud of all they continue to achieve."

Busy

The band is now working towards their busy concert and contest season which includes performances at Selby Abbey, York Barbican, and Ripon Cathedral.

The Youth Band is part of the five band organisation located in York and have appeared at several contests over the past few years, claiming silverware on every occasion.

The Shepherd banding organisation is led by Musical Director Richard Wilton who established his Academy Brass to cater for learners of all ages, feeding into bands and investing in the brass roots of banding.
