Elland Youth ask for a pound of support at Huddersfield

If you have a spare pound in your pocket at Huddersfield this weekend, make sure you buy a raffle ticket to help get Elland Youth Band to Montreux — and there are plenty of great prizes to be won too...

Elland Silver Youth Band is giving their fund-raising one last big push at Huddersfield

Elland Silver Youth Band has almost reached its target of raising £20,000 to enable them to proudly represent England at the forthcoming European Youth Brass Band Championships in Switzerland.

The band has organised one more fund-raising event, which is being held this weekend at the Yorkshire Regional Championships at Huddersfield Town Hall.

Just a pound

With kind permission from the Yorkshire Regional Championship committee, raffle tickets will be on sale by the trade stands, priced at just £1 each.

Prizes have been generously donated by the likes of Band Supplies, Fusion Gig Bags and Kirklees Music, as well as individuals such as Mark Wilkinson, Mike Eccles and Daniel Brooks.

They include a JP Intermediate cornet, triple trumpet bag, music vouchers and private lessons, so they are well worth investing a pound to win!

We are so grateful to everyone who has donated the prizes to us and to Peggy Tomlinson and the Yorkshire Regional Committee for supporting us in this way. This will be another huge boost to our effortsSam Harrison
