Goldy Solutions Ian Clowes has been inspiring the next generation of potential brass band photographers after giving a series of talks about his work.
He was recently invited to be part of a 'Young Chamber Scheme' initiative that sees leading industry professionals go into schools to talk about what they do and to hopefully inspire others to following in their footsteps.
Memorable images
Ian, who has taken so many memorable images for 4BR over the years, was asked to give a presentation at Christleton High School close to his home, and was delighted at the response — not just of his striking images of the work of the military, industry and architecture, but also of brass bands.
"It's great that so many youngsters see photography as a career they wish to explore — and that they want to know just how much hard work and a touch of good fortune goes into a single memorable image.
They were fascinated by the brass band images I've taken over the years — and amazed that I've been lucky to take them at some incredible venues — from Symphony Hall and the Royal Albert Hall to all the great European Championship venues."

Contests
He added: "I don't know if I managed to persuade them to become brass band fans, but I'm sure a few of them may well be heading to a local contest or two with their cameras in future."
