Robbert Vos has become the latest Besson International Artist

Besson Musical Instruments have announced the signing of the highly respected Dutch euphonium player and conductor Robbert Vos as their latest International Besson Artist.

The multi-award winning performer will join the likes of David Childs, Steven Mead, Bastien Baumet, Tormod Flaten and Daniel Thomas in playing on the maker's Prestige instrument.

Real honour

He told 4BR: "It's a real honour to join such a renowned maker and iconic brand as Besson. The artists that perform on the Prestige euphonium speak for themselves and I'm delighted to be able to take on the role as an international artist with them."

Robbert made the move after testing the Besson 2052 Prestige. "The projection of sound, overtones, flexibility, endurance it gave me was on another level than I have experienced before,"he said.

"For both a solo performer and band player this makes a huge difference and made the choice easy."

Welcome

In welcoming him to Besson, Steven Mead added: "It's wonderful to have such a fantastic musician as Robbert Vos playing on a Besson euphonium. He is a performer of world class talents — and the instrument will enhance that even further.

I feel sure he will be a great asset to brand Besson, and I know he will enjoy to play Besson 2052-2 for audiences on every stage he takes to."
