Staff welcome new signings

The Staffordshire Band has welcomed a number of new signings ahead of the Midlands Area Championships.

  The Staffordshire Band has welcomed a number of new signings.

The Staffordshire Band has announced a substantial number of new signings ahead of the appearance at the Midlands Regional Championships.

The 2018 First Section National Championship runner-up has been reinvigorated by the arrival of Craig Williams as Musical Director.

Signings

It has also signalled the return of tuba players Kris Davies and Lawrence Ecclestone, whilst the trombone section welcomes Helen White and Karina Fodden.

The award winning Yu-Han Yang of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire comes in on solo euphonium, with the horn section boosted by Dale Hopkins, joining Lauren Gifford and Julie Dale, with Laura Jeffs on flugel horn.

The cornet section sees the arrival of Gemma Leigh Price, Rachael Dickens, Chris Wood and Stephen Ward, whilst stalwart Chairman, Shaun Elliott, moves from solo cornet.

Exciting times

He told 4BR: "It's a very exciting time for Staffs, seeing this mix of experienced players join forces with other younger ones to make music under Craig Williams."

August 11 • Epping Forest Band have a vacancy for a solo horn player.. We are a friendly social 3rd section band with a variety of concerts throughout the year.. We have our own band hut and are within easy distance of the M11 and the central line.

August 9 • Ilkeston Brass need a new MD! We are a 4th section band based in SE Derbyshire with a strong community presence. We have empty seats in the cornet section but a core of committed players fighting to keep the band going.


Shirley Band

August 9 • The Shirley Band invite applications for the position of MUSICAL DIRECTOR. Due to relocation, we now seek a Musical Director to maintain a high standard of playing and to produce varied programmes for our sell-out concert series together with contests.
