Inspiration, awards and launches for Kerwin

Tabby Kerwin looks towards the future by being inspired into legacy action by the life and works of her late husband Simon.

Tabby's energies are being targeted at a new website and a marathon running thank you...

Following the death of her husband, the highly respected brass band figure Simon Kerwin in November last year, Tabby Kerwin is putting her energies into extending his musical legacy whilst also helping inspire others to overcome some of life's challenges.

To celebrate their musical partnership, their Mode for… publishing business will be launching a new website in the next few months which will feature music composed and arranged by Simon and books written by Tabby.

Instant delivery

"The new website will be the creative home of the Kerwin name,"Tabby told 4BR. "Simon left me not only with years of happiness, marriage and memories, but thousands of pieces of music he had composed and arranged, over 600 of which are in publication.

Since 2008, Mode for... published Simon's music, and his wish was always to have it made available on instant delivery so bands could quickly access new music in order to improve and make rehearsals more varied and fun.

I'm delighted to now be able to do just that. All the music on the website will be immediately available to be downloaded and printed out.

This means that Simon's huge legacy and his life-long musical passion will continue through his composition and arrangements."

Running thank you

Tabby has also taken the opportunity to thank the wonderful team at the Yorkshire Cancer Centre who looked after Simon during his illness, by running the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon in aid of their work.

She added: "I'm not a seasoned runner by any means, but if by doing this I can help raise valuable funds for the people that did everything to help my husband, then that is well, well worth it. We will also be raising funds via events with Mode for…"

Vote Kerwin

Tabby's renowned hard work and determination in helping others in spite of her own personal circumstances has also led to two nominations in the 2019 Yorkshire Choice Awards for 'Inspirational Individual of the Year' and 'Business Woman of the Year'.

"I'm humbled by the nominations which came as a huge surprise just a few weeks after Simon died. Just the knowledge that I'd been nominated gave me strength to continue my work to help inspire and strengthen others and I know Simon is supporting and guiding me all the way. Now all I need is some votes!"
