One of the UK's finest trombone players will be leading a special open class with brass students from the University of Huddersfield later this month, as well as giving a special recital concert.
Halle principal
Katy Jones, the principal trombone of the Halle Orchestra and a former co-principal trombone of the London Symphony Orchestra will lead the masterclass with students before presenting a recital concert at St Paul's Hall at the University of Huddersfield on Thursday 17th January (1.15pm).
Katy has been principal trombone of the Halle since 2012 and has worked under many of the world's leading conductors as well as recording soundtracks for blockbuster films such as 'Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith' and the Harry Potter series.
She is also an acclaimed educator, and is a tutor at the RNCM and Chethams School as well as a brass coach of the National Youth Orchestra.
A spokesperson told 4BR: "This is a wonderful opportunity to hear one the UKs finest orchestral players in action."
