Have you heard the one about..?

A charity joke book will help raise funds for the Brass for Africa charity — and its those happy Scots who will be having the first laugh...

  It should be all smiles in Scotland over the next couple of weekends...

Well known bandsman David Robb has produced a special joke book that he hopes will help raise funds for the Brass for Africa charity.

It has been supported by the Scottish Brass Band Association and Band Supplies Ltd, with the book on sale at the forthcoming SBBA Scottish Festival of Brass competition weekends at Perth Concert Hall on 17th and 24th & 25th November.

David who posts a new joke every day on his Facebook page, hopes to carry on with his one-liners for the rest of the year, and told 4BR that he has managed to get something of cult following as a result.

He told 4BR: "Since August I have been posting a new joke every day, and there's been tremendous interest in them from all over the world and from some of the leading names.

I thought that these jokes were just going to waste sitting on my timeline after I had used them, so I put together 120 into the charity joke book which will benefit the charity Brass for Africa."

Dave's Dad-Joke



The book is entitled, 'Dave's Dad-Jokes! (Family friendly funnies)' — with Ronnie Tennant of Band Supplies telling 4BR that it's the perfect way to put a smile on anyone's face.

"There are jokes to make you belly laugh, chuckle and even groan — and as it only costs £3.00 as a minimum donation even that puts a smile on a Scotsman's face.

We're delighted to support a great way of raising much needed funds for a great charity."

Keep an eye out

Keep an eye out for the book in Perth next weekend — and don't be surprised that you will hear more than a few chuckles around the concert hall as a result. All the proceeds go to the Brass for Africa charity.
