EBBA deadline looms for composers

The closing date for the 7th European Composers Competition is fast looming — so if you want to enter, get scribbling with your application...

  Talented composers should get their applications in by 1st January

Talented brass band writers are being reminded that the closing date for the 2019 EBBA Composers Competition is fast approaching.

The European Brass Band Association has announced that the closing date to submit applications for its 7th Composers Competition to be held as part of the 42nd European Championships in Montreux in Switzerland next year is the 1st January 2019.

Eligible

Composers native to or resident in and EBBA member country, born on or after 1st January 1984 are eligible to enter an original composition for brass band of up to a maximum of 12 minutes in duration.

The competition will consist of one preliminary round and a final, which will take place on the 26th April at the Stravinsky Hall in Montreux. The new compositions will be performed by a leading Swiss brass band.

Prizes

Podium prizes of EUR 2500, 2000, 1500 will be on offer as well as an Audience Prize of EUR 500 and Band Prize of EUR 500, including support for future commissions or further study. All finalists will receive a diploma.
