The members of Foden's Band certainly enjoyed their celebrations on winning the 2018 National title at the Royal Albert Hall under Russell Gray.

However, so did the players at the famous Crystal Palace in 1934 after they won the title under the baton of the great Fred Mortimer playing 'Comedy Overture' — the moment when victory was announced — and a hat-trick victory at that — captured in the wonderful image above.

The players could not celebrate be wearing the trophy on their heads though as they would have been hard pressed to have lifted the iconic 1000 Guinea Trophy which was presented to them.
