The Leyland Band has welcomed the signing of Sarah Lenton as their new solo baritone.

Regarded as one of the finest exponents of the instrument in the UK, the Sterling artist will record a solo CD with Leyland in 2019. Sarah joins the North West band after a stint at Foden's, and said that she is looking forward to a new challenge at Leyland led by MD Thomas Wyss.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We're delighted to welcome Sarah. She helped us out at a few concerts and contests recently and enjoyed it so much that she decided that she would like to stay.

After finishing sixth at the recent British Open, we believe players of this calibre will allow us to challenge for major titles once again."
