Getting a Handel on the Albert

Bands are putting their final touches to their preparations for the Albert Hall on Saturday... and so is 4BR

  The Albert Hall will host the 20 bands

The focus of the banding world will be on Kensington Gore in London on Saturday as 20 bands take to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall to tackle Kenneth Downie's 'Handel in the Band'.

There is the promise of some great competitive music making on show and 4BR will be there to bring you a taste of the action as it unfolds.

Aperitifs

We have a couple of aperitifs to start you off though with a review of the test-piece by 4BR Editor Iwan Fox and a wonderful look back at the career of the great Walter Hargreaves — the 'Wee Professor' who won his first National title with Brighouse & Rastrick Band half a century ago...
