The British Bandsman magazine has apologised for its error in issuing an incorrect press statement to 4BR concerning their misunderstanding of the return of the SA Bandsman publication to Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd.
As accurately reported on 4BR on 26th September, IBB Media Ltd Managing Director, Martin Gernon initially confirmed that the 'SA Bandsman' publication had been sold back to the Salvation Army three months ago, and that its distribution or production was no longer any part of British Bandsman.
Apology
This misunderstanding by them has now been noted and an apology has been issued by British Bandsman in an official statement sent by Martin Gernon (below).
It says:
"British Bandsman wishes to correct a previous press statement issued on 4BR concerning SA Bandsman.
The article, correctly reported by 4BR, stated the SA Bandsman had been sold back to Salvation Army some three months ago.
The SA Bandsman had in fact been returned to the keeping of The Salvation Army and no contract of sale was entered into, and the agreement, though agreed in principle some months previously, was only signed on 28th August 2018 by the previous owners of British Bandsman.
British Bandsman, of course, apologises for any misunderstanding in this press release.
A spokesman for Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd added: "It was unfortunately impossible to either publish or determine any plans for SA Bandsman during the protracted sale of British Bandsman, but matters are now clarifying and Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd. hope to be able to make an announcement in the next few days as to the future of the magazine."
