There was a fantastic response to the latest 4BR Quiz that recently tested people's knowledge of the first round of matches in the UEFA Champions League.
We asked for which team did the aptly brass band named footballer Maxwel Cornet score for, playing against a top English club — and the answer was of course Lyon — as he helped them to a victory over Manchester City.
Cornet prize
We have now finally managed to get in touch with the winner who was picked out of our electronic hat, with Janella Calvert who plays cornet with the Scarborough based 'Simply Brass' and Driffield Bands the lucky recipient of a cracking John Packer JP071 Cornet in lacquer worth £150.00, thanks to our fiends at Band Supplies.
Janella told 4BR that the prize couldn't have come at a better time either, as it will be passed immediately on to her 7 year old son James who has just started playing and had to give his old cornet back.
As Liverpool supporters we follow the Champions League and so we both knew that this particular 'Cornet' player had scored for Lyon against Manchester City. James can't wait to get his hands in the instrument nowJanella Calvert

"It's a fantastic prize and a great surprise,"she said. "James is thrilled that I managed to win it for him.
