Bands will be able to perform to a global brass band audience...

Over 50 bands are starting to put their final preparations in place for the forthcoming Bolsover Festival of Brass, which will take place at the Heritage High School in Clowne on Sunday 30th September.

Live broadcast

Following the outstanding success of previous events, the performances of the competitors in every section will be live-streamed across the banding world on two on-line channels — providing over 12 hours of non-stop brass band entertainment from 9.00am in the morning.

The festival has attracted the support of a number of high profile funders Clowne Parish Council, Elmton with Creswell Parish Council and Shirebrook Town Council and sponsors for each section of competition, including Warwick Music, Lincolnshire Co-op Funeral Services, Band Supplies and Creative Brass, whilst there will be the usual attractions at the event itself- including for the very first time an interactive audience voting system.

Further details will be released in the week approaching the contest day — so keep an eye out for further news.

Excellent response

A Bolsover Festival of Brass spokesperson told 4BR: "We have had an excellent response from the competing bands once more — attracted by the opportunity of showcasing their brand of brass band entertainment to the world.

The aim is to make the event as interactive and enjoyable as possible for performers and listeners alike, and we are delighted to be pioneering an innovative approach to include our worldwide audience. It's going to be a great day of friendly competitive music making to be enjoyed across the globe."
