New signings for National champs ahead double assault

Newmains & District head to Cheltenham with a quartet of new signings as they seek successive National titles.

  Newmains will be looking to make it two National wins in a row after their 2017 win (above).

The reigning Fourth Section National Champion and current Scottish Third Section Champion, Newmains & District has announced a quartet of new signings before they head to Cheltenham once again.

The band has been strengthened by the addition of Richard Pugh, Morgan Tait and Fiona Devlin to the cornet section, whilst Malcolm Vannan moves from cornet to flugel.

Silver Rose

The band revealed that it has enjoyed a visit by Michael's daughter, Katrina, from Black Dyke who has added her experience to the band's preparations.

Michael also added that exciting plans are now in place to work with Katrina as guest soloist on a world premier version of Liz Lane's 'Silver Rose' composition.
