Mud, mud, glorious mud...

A quartet of players from Coalburn Silver Band got down and dirty at the recent 'Tough Mudder' event in Edinburgh.

Four members of Coalburn Silver Band recently took part in the annual Edinburgh 'Tough Mudder' event.

Held on a course at Holyrood Park the intrepid (and fit) bandsmen tackled the 5 kilometre route around the famous landmark of Arthur's Seat. The quartet also had to overcome a series of obstacles on the route including cargo nets, a warped wall and high rings.

Teamwork

The four completed the course in just under an hour and a half, with solo euphonium Ian Jamieson telling 4BR: "We had a fantastic, if tiring time getting to grips with a brilliant course.

We all managed to complete it thanks to teamwork and Coalburn camaraderie!"

No rest

However, the four didn't have much time for a well earned rest, as the following day they were back in action as the band participated in the 'Brass Showcase' event at Johnstone Town Hall where the band won a number of awards including 'Most Entertaining Band'.

The band members (left to right), Euan Court, Alan Court, Ian Jamieson and Daniel Beadle are pictured in their well-earned completion t-shirts (above).
