  Derwent Brass has welcomed the two highly experienced trombone players to their ranks

Derwent Brass has announced the signing of two trombone players.

Joining the band with immediate effect are the experienced duo of Richard Walker on solo trombone, with Malcolm Portman on second trombone.

Highly regarded

Richard has been a highly regarded performer with bands such as Leyland, Fairey, Carlton Main and more recently Thoresby Colliery.

He has also been a welcome guest with many top flight bands around the country and also plays with the Essentially Brass and Harlequin Brass ensembles and the Nottingham Jazz Orchestra.

We could not be more pleased that we have been able to attract such players as Richard and MalcolmBand Manager, Chris Leonard

Experience

Malcolm also brings experience with his successful tenures at Thoresby Colliery, Carlton Main and Blidworth Welfare Bands. He also has extensive military musical experience with the Qatari Army Music Corps.

Band Manager Chris Leonard told 4BR: "We could not be more pleased that we have been able to attract such players as Richard and Malcolm. The band has always admired their playing and we are grateful for the support they have given us in the past.

We hope their tenure with us is long and enjoyable one as continue to improve and develop as a top flight band."
