The Goodwick Band from West Wales has just been presented with a 'Pride in Pembrokeshire' award.
Sponsored by the Pembrokeshire Public Services Board (PSB) in partnership with the Western Telegraph newspaper, the award recognises the outstanding educational, artistic and contesting achievements of the organisation.
Dedication
With four separate bands under its umbrella providing more than 100 musicians from all over Pembrokeshire and beyond with the opportunity to enjoy brass band music making, Chair of the PSB, Tegryn Jones, said the judging panel were struck by the band's dedication to enhancing musical opportunities, as well as their work for charitable causes.
"It is clear that Goodwick Brass Band makes a substantial contribution to improving individual and community well-being in the area.
Panel members were particularly impressed with the group's commitment to delivering a volunteer-led approach to meeting local need and the way in which it creates opportunities for young people to learn and meet new people.
He added: "They were also impressed by the intergenerational nature of the activities, and their work to support charitable organisations."

In response, Band Chairman Tony Evans, added: "We're very honoured to receive the 'Pride in Pembrokeshire' award. It's great to be rewarded for the work that we do in the community and further afield."
