BrassPass.tv has announced that it is to take over the running and broadcasting of the former BBC Radio 2 'Young Brass Award' competition.
Although details on timings, venue and entry criteria are yet to be announced, it is understood that the format of the event will remain the same.
Springboard
Managing Director, Martin Gernon told 4BR: "The Young Brass Award has given great young players a huge springboard and platform for their careers.
Katrina Marzella, Dan Thomas, Matthew White, Ben Thompson, Lewis Musson and Matilda Lloyd are some of the previous winners, and following the decision of Radio 2 to end its participation, we had to take up the reins and keep this vital competition alive."
He added: "The difference ongoing is the event will be live-streamed around the world, giving the finalists an even higher profile. It will once again be hosted by Frank Renton, supplementing his popular 'Still Listening to the Band' show."
Martin also confirmed that the hosting of the Young Brass Award will be the first of several announcements about BrassPass.tv's programming content for next year.

We have a far reaching and varied programme of events, shows, tuition and web content that will not only represent incredible value for money but will host huge amounts of exclusive content.
