Seven talented young players from the Coalburn Brass Band organisation recently enjoyed being part of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland (NYBBS) summer course.
Proud representatives
The players from Coalburn's Percussion Academy, Bronze, Intermediate and Silver Band proudly represented the band, with Anna Biggart and Jack Archibald performing with the NYBBS Senior Band. Meanwhile, Euan Court was a member of the NYBBS Reserve Band, whilst Eilidh Court, Tilly Trickey, Hannah Archibald and Finlay Damer performed as part of the NYBBS Children's Band.
Young horn player Eilidh left the course saying: "It was the best banding week of my life. I've never laughed so much and I've made so many good friends I'll keep in touch with and it helped me so much musically."
They all performed superbly and are a credit to themselves, their families and the bandBand President, Alan Court
Thrilled
Band President, Alan Court told 4BR that he was thrilled that the band had provided seven wonderful players for the national bands. "We're exceptionally proud of our young folk who took part on the NYBBS course.
They all performed superbly and are a credit to themselves, their families and the band."
The Coalburn musicians were part of a group of 180 young brass and percussion players from across Scotland who came together at Strathallan High School in Perth for the week long course, which concluded with concert performances from the Children's, Reserve and Senior Bands.
