National Youth start working with Tovey's performance principals

The National Youth Band of Great Britain is working hard at Repton School under the batons of Bramwell Tovey and Dudley Bright.

The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain is currently at Repton School in Derbyshire for its 2018 Summer Course.

Led by Artistic Director Bramwell Tovey, Principal Conductor of the BBC Concert Orchestra, alongside guest conductor Dudley Bright, who until recently held the role as principal trombone of the London Symphony Orchestra, the course will conclude with concerts at Repton School's 400 Hall on Friday 3rd August (7.30pm) and on Saturday 4th August (7.30pm) at the Albert Hall, Nottingham.

Concerts

The concerts will be conducted by Dudley Bright and will feature euphonium virtuoso David Childs as guest soloist.

The talented young players will be tutored by Tracey Redfearn, Paul Young, John Berryman, Ailsa Russell, Glyn Williams, Christopher Jeans, Nick Etheridge, Andrea Price and John Maines, with the principal players announced as:

Bilton Silver Rugby Band

November 22 • Bilton Silver (Rugby) requires a cornet player to join our Championship Section band (Position negotiable). Under MD Brad Turnbull we have a varied programme of events. Rehearsals are held on Monday and Friday at 7-45pm in our own purpose built bandroom.


Besses o'th' Barn Band

November 21 • Under the direction of David W Ashworth, we are making every effort to complete the rebuild of this very famous brass band. We require one kit and one tuned percussionists plus one Back Row Cornet to complete our line up for the North West Area Contest.
