Hunter takes the helm at Cockerton

Andy Hunter has become the new Musical Director of Cockerton Prize Band.

Cockerton Prize Silver Band has announced the appointment of Andy Hunter as their new Musical Director.

Born in Durham, the 36 year old trombonist has enjoyed an outstanding musical career in the British Army, recently enjoying a two year spell at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall training the next generation of musicians.

Roots

The holder of performance diplomas on trombone, euphonium and conducting, Andy's brass band roots cover enjoyable spells with the likes of (BHK) Horden Ltd, Fishburn and NASUWT Riverside Band. He started his conducting career at Craghead Colliery Band, moving to NASUWT Concert Band and helping them to qualify for the National Finals.
