Musical memories help raise funds for hospice

A celebration of the life of a fine north walian bandsman and musician has helped raise funds for a local hospice.

Buckley
A trio of musical organisations played their part in the concert

Buckley Brass and Royal Buckley Town Band joined forces with Rhos Orpheus Male Choir last weekend to play in a concert to raise funds for Nightingale Hospice.

The concert at Darland School Rossett and was in memory of one of the choirs former members, Des Davies, whose family also play in both bands.

Celebration

The concert featured solos from the family of Des and was a musical celebration of his life in recognition of the influence he had on music in North Wales.

His daughter Lynda Roberts, a Buckley Brass player, commented on how proud she was to see members of her family playing solos for both bands at a concert for such a wonderful cause and in memory of her father. Between the choir and both bands over £900 was raised for Nightingale Hospice.
