Roberts Bakery Band will be taking to the stage of one of the UKs biggest festivals next weekend.
The north-west band under MD Paul Lovatt-Cooper will be performing at the Bluedot festival at the world famous Jodrell Bank Observatory on Sunday 22nd July — part of a 'cosmic' event from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd July, where music, science and space discovery collide.
Cosmic
The band has also been asked to provide a special 'cosmic' playlist of 'hits' — and is asking brass band lovers to come up with great pop songs that can be performed at the event
There's a whole host of the hottest hits to choose from, including 'Get Lucky' by Pharrell Williams, 'Human' by Rag and Bone man and 'Poker Face' by Lady Gaga.
Appropriately enough there's even 'Life on Mars' by David Bowie, as the band (above) get ready for the festival experience.
Vote
The ten songs that receive the most votes will be performed on stage against the awe-inspiring backdrop of the famous Lovell telescope, and 5 lucky people who have taken the time to vote will be randomly selected to each win a pair of VIP Bluedot tickets — including camping from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd July, as well as access to the Celestial VIP bar.
Roberts Bakery family member Lindsay Occleston told 4BR: "As a brand that's rooted in innovation, Bluedot is a fabulous fit.
We pride ourselves on creating a tantalising twist on the traditional — whether that's adding a splash of gin and dash of tonic to a teacake, or a handful of chilli flakes to a soft corn roll, so it's great that our band is involved in this way."
