It's been a busy schedule of late for Tredegar Band as they have played a central part in the 70th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the National Health Service.
Following their recent performances as part of the Aneurin Bevan Day in their home town and at the Houses of Parliament, they round things off with a special 'God Bless the NHS' concert in Pontypridd on Saturday (14th July at 7.00pm) hosted by the well known opera singer and BBC broadcaster Beverley Humphreys.
Arrive in time
"It's another high profile event — and one we are delighted to be part of,"MD Ian Porthouse told 4BR. "Beverley is a great supporter of brass bands and regularly features music on her popular radio programme.
She is also an indefatigable supporter of wonderful causes and has led the 'God Bless the NHS' initiative that has seen walkers trek down the length of Wales — hopefully to arrive just in time to out their feet up and enjoy a concert that will of course feature Tom Davoren's new soprano cornet commission 'Legacy'."
Innsbruck, Devon and Cardiff
Following the event, Tredegar will prepare to travel to Austria for an appearance at the famous Innsbruck Promenade Concerts alongside trombone soloist Lito Fontana, followed by concert performances at the Camp Bestival Festival in Dorset and at the Welsh National Eisteddfod in Cardiff.
