Muggeridge takes Flight with life saving CD

Former Fairey Band baritone player Keith Muggeridge has launched a fund raising CD to say thank you to the brilliant Air Ambulance Service that helped save his life.

Keith's CD will help raise funds for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance Service

Keith Muggeridge's long journey back to health following a horrendous car accident in February 2015 has reached another landmark, with the launch of a CD, entitled 'Flight', which he hopes will raise valuable funds for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance Service — the people who saved his life.

Keith was driving to work when his car hit black ice and skidded into a tree.

By immense good fortune, the accident was witnessed by a medical professional who immediately came to his aid and called the Air Ambulance, which with the help of the incredible skill of the pilot (the helicopter had no headlights and the morning was still dark) managed to land near to the accident and airlift Keith to hospital.

Repay the debt

Thankfully Keith is just about back to full health, and as brass bands have been such a central part of his life, he wanted to try and help repay his debt of gratitude by using his recovery to raise funds for the service — with the support of friends such as Steven Mead, Peter Christian, Paul Haigh and Sheona White and the GUS Virtuosi and Towcester Studio Bands.

The 'All Star Band' is led by Mark Peakcock, an old Fairey Band colleague, and all the solos, duets and quartets are favourites of Keith's.

I'm so grateful to so many people to be able to give something back to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance Service. I will forever be in their debtKeith Muggeridge

Grateful

He told 4BR: "I'm so grateful to so many people to be able to give something back to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance Service. I will forever be in their debt, but I hope the proceeds of the CD will help others who will rely on their expertise and bravery.

The title track had to be 'Flight' by Philip Wilby — so I hope people enjoy the CD and support a life-saving cause in the process."
