The funeral details for Darrol Barry have been announced

4BR has been informed that the funeral of the composer Darrol Barry will be held at 11.00am on Friday 29th June at St. George's Church, Tyldesley, Greater Manchester (M29 8GX).

It will be followed by a private cremation for the family at Howe Bridge.

The wake celebrating Darrol's life will be held at the Botanical Gardens, 232 Tyldesley Road, Atherton, Manchester (M46 9AE).

Family flowers and band

The family has requested family flowers only and donations to a cause which is yet to be decided.

They have also asked if a band of players could play at the service and have thanked the whole of the banding world for their thoughts, cards, phone calls and messages.

It is hoped that a future brass band composition competition will be held in Darrol's memory.
