Phillip Littlemore has taken on the Musical Director role at Otterbourne Brass

The highly respected conductor and arranger Phillip Littlemore has taken up the role of Musical Director with Otterbourne Brass.

He brings a wealth of experience to the West of England Band, having enjoyed eleven years at the helm of Ware Brass.

Delighted

Having moved to the Isle of Wight he has been enjoying playing cornet with the band, but following the resignation of Melvin White due to ill-health, he was delighted to be able to take over the MD position with immediate effect, although his first public engagement will not be until October.

Speaking on behalf of the band, Liz Anthony told 4BR: "We are looking forward to working with Phillip in what we hope will be a long and successful relationship."

They are a great bunch of people and extremely committed, and I'm looking forward to working on developing the outstanding musical foundations put in place by my good friend, MelvinPhillip Littlemore

Looking forward

In response Phillip added: "I'm delighted to take on the role, after playing with the band since February.

They are a great bunch of people and extremely committed, and I'm looking forward to working on developing the outstanding musical foundations put in place by my good friend, Melvin."
