Kapitol sets out the cathedral Flowers

Flowers Band will be presenting the first of a series of Cathedral Concerts in Gloucester this evening — with music for all the family (the Royals included).

Flowers
Flowers will be conducted by David Childs

Kapitol Promotions will be hosting Flowers Band in concert in Gloucester Cathedral today (Saturday 19th May)

It will be the first of the company's 'Cathedral Series' of concerts featuring the Butlins and West of England Regional Champion under MD David Childs, and the renowned ReChoir, directed by Nathan Jones.

Repertoire

Presented by compere David Hayward, the repertoire to be performed is aimed at a family audience under headings such as 'Slavonic Brass', which features colourful Russian and Czech music.

'Celebrating Icons' will pay homage to the centenary of the birth of Wilfred Heaton, 50 years since the death of Martin Luther King, and a touching celebration of Derek Bourgeois.

All this and there is 'The Music of Sir Karl Jenkins' — Europe's most popular living composer, and 'Best of British', which will pay homage to Holst and Elgar, born close to Gloucester in Cheltenham and Worcester respectively.

It's rounded off with Holst's 'Jupiter' from 'The Planets'; and Elgar's 'Nimrod' from 'Enigma Variations'.

Tickets:

Front Nave — £20.00; Rear Nave — £15.00. Concessions: 5/16 years — £10.00 and £7.50 Front and Rear Nave respectively.

Only available from Gloucester Cathedral Box Office.
