Gloucestershire Youth revival

Thanks to some brilliant support, the Gloucestershire Youth Brass Band has been revived and is raring to go under the baton of Ian Porthouse...

Ian Porthouse will lead the 2019 course

The Gloucestershire Brass Band Association and Gloucestershire Music have announced that they have secured funding to help reestablish the Gloucestershire Youth Brass Band.

In recent years the band has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, travelled abroad and participated regularly at the National Youth Brass Band Championships. It is hoped that over time it will be able to provide similar great experiences for its young players.

Nominations

The band is now taking nominations from tutors, local bands and affiliated music services to give advanced young brass and percussion players the chance to represent their county.

A two day course is planned for January 5th and 6th 2019 under the baton of Ian Porthouse, with hopes that they will be able to produce a recording to be presented for entry to Music for Youth4BR
