Two of Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band's players will be joining the British folk sensation, 'Jon Boden and the Remnant Kings' on their forthcoming UK tour.

Jon, is the former front man of the successful contemporary folk group Bellowhead, and recruited the services of Toni Durrant and Sam Fisher on euphonium and trumpet and flugel last year to feature on his latest CD, 'Afterglow'.

The pair appeared with him at the prestigious Cambridge Folk Festival as well as performing with him on his 2017 Autumn tour.

Eye opener

Toni told 4BR: "It's been a real eye opener on many fronts — from tour bus life and experiencing the 'Brit-folk' genre to getting to see so much of the UK in such a short space of time.

They're a really friendly, talented bunch and it's an absolute pleasure to take folk and brass to the next level with them.'
