Three members of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland (NYBBS) will travel to Utrecht on Sunday to proudly represent their nation as members of the European Youth Brass Band.
They will meet up with players from across Europe under the baton of the celebrated conductor Ivan Meylemans to rehearse and then perform in a series of high profile concerts and appearances throughout the week as part of the 2018 European Championships- including bringing the whole festival to close on Sunday May 6th.
Cornet players Kyle Fitzsimmons, from Co-operative Funeralcare Band, and Bathgate's Storm Robertson will join tenor horn player Iona McVicar who lives in Cyprus to perform repertoire that will include Philip Sparke's 'Partita', Stijn Aertgeert's 'Osterfjorden' and Gavin Higgins' 'Ivory Ghosts'.
