These are exciting times for the Roberts Bakery Band.
Under the baton of Paul Lovatt-Cooper they are set to appear at the huge Bluedot Festival — a four day event that explores the realms of music, science, art and culture based at the amazing surroundings of the famous Jodrell Bank observatory in Cheshire.
Stars
The band will join an appropriately fantastic line-up of stars too — from 80's icon Gary Numan to Pink Kink and the incredible Flaming Lips, as well as scientists and thinkers such as Richard Dawkins and Alice Roberts.
Also on the musical horizon is the production of a brand new CD, a European tour and a sell-out concert at Chester Cathedral where they are joined by television celebrities.
Great times
Little wonder then MD Paul Lovatt Cooper is enjoying himself with the Sandbach based band. "These are the type of times you love most with a band either as a player or a conductor.
The type of projects that the band is undertaking are very different and innovative — especially the Bluedot Festival which is an amazing event and attracts people from all walks of life. We can't wait to play there in July."
He is however keen to ensure that the First Section band continues to grow and development as a contesting force under his tenure. "That's vitally important. The band gains great support from its sponsors and projects their brand to a wide audience, but we also want to maintain our progress on the contest stage."

Work with ambitious players
He added: "That's why I want to work with players who are ambitious and outward looking — keen to prove themselves on test pieces and entertainment contest programmes but also eager to reach out to new audiences.
If you are that type of player then Roberts Bakery Band is the place to be I can assure you."
