A new concert work by Welsh composer Tom Davoren has been featured this weekend as part of the 131st Annual New York Staff Band Festival, held in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Davoren's first Salvationist work 'Living Power' was commissioned by Dr. Jonathan Corry for the Enfield Citadel Band and subsequently recorded and performed by the New York, Chicago, Canadian and Amsterdam Staff Bands.

Proclamation

With 'Living Power' now released by the United States Eastern Territory Publications, New York Staff Band BM Derek Lance commissioned the composer to write a more substantial concert work. The result was 'Proclamation', a vibrant concert opener work based on the melody of 'Stand Up for Jesus', a tune selected by Derek.

The New York Staff Band was joined by for the prestigious concert by the Amsterdam Staff Band, who are currently on a tour of the American East Coast.
