The draw has been made for the 2018 Brass in Concert Entertainment Championship and Youth Brass in Concert Entertainment Championships.
It took place during a packed special concert by Grimethorpe Colliery Band at Durham Cathedral presented by the BiC organisers to support the North of England Children's Cancer Research Fund.
Draw
The draws were made by the Dean of Durham Cathedral Very Reverend Andrew Tremlett, the Worshipful Mayor of Durham Cllr Bill Kellett and his consort Cllr Jean Chaplow. Also in attendance was the Lord Lieutenant of County Durham Sue Snowden and her husband.
Although Eikanger Bjorsvik is not returning to defend their title, there is still an exceptional international line-up of competing bands.
Former winners Cory, Foden's, Brighouse & Rastrick and Grimethorpe are joined by the twin American challenge of newly crowned NABBA Champion Fountain City and Atlantic Brass, as well as the Norwegians of Manger Musikklag and the top domestic rivals of Virtuosi GUS, Reg Vardy, Whitburn, Flowers and Carlton Main Frickley.
