Foden's give Patrons a sneak preview ahead of Area Odyssey

The defending North West Champion made sure their loyal supporters gained a sneak preview of their Area preparations at their recent Patrons' Concert.

Foden's, the defending North West Regional Champion, recently held their annual Patrons Concert at a packed Sandbach School.

The band hopes to claim a hat-trick of Area victories at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool this weekend, and gave a sneak preview of the set-work 'Odyssey' as well as providing over 500 supporters with a musical thank-you for their continued support.

Warmly received

Now in its 31st year, the Patrons' Society enjoyed solos from Mark Wilkinson, Gary Curtin, Mel Whyle and John Barber as well as other popular favourites under MD Michael Fowles, whilst Prof Nicholas Childs led the rendition of the Area test-piece on a warmly received return to the event.

March 27 • We are a friendly progressive 1st Section band who need a couple of seats filled.. Bb BASS and PERCUSSIONIST are on our wanted list so if you are looking for a new banding challenge get in contact. We rehearse on Wednesdays and have good realistic diary.


Newport Borough Brass Band

March 27 • After a respectable 4th place in the 2nd Section at the Welsh Area Contest, we are looking for FRONT ROW CORNET (position negotiable) 1st BARITONE, 2ND TROMBONE and Bb BASS players to come and join us on our journey under the baton of Martin McHale BEM.


East London Brass

March 27 • PERCUSSION - ELB are the look out for a percussionist to complement our existing section. We have a sensible diary of contests and concerts and are ambitious to keep progressing as a band.
